Murat Selçuk is a Turkish composer and musician based in Los Angeles.
His works ranges from independent feature films to additional music for TV Shows such as All American, Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman.
Growing up in 90’s Istanbul. Murat developed a very eclectic taste and sensibility to music and picture. His love for classical music at an early age led him to study classical clarinet at Istanbul University State Concervatory. In the same time having influenced by electronic music artists such as Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk etc. he began to practice his production skills on his first synthesizer as a teenager.
Later on, he shifted gears to France to study composition at Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régionale d’Annecy, where he collaborated with directors from Cinédoc Paris Films and on animation projects from ArtFx Studios, École Pivaut and Gobelins L’école De L’image.
In 2013, he attended University of Southern California’s film scoring program in Los Angeles. There he worked closely with Christopher Young ( Hellraiser, Drag Me To Hell, Spider Man3), Garry Schyman (BioShock, Dante’s Inferno), Bruce Broughton, Jack Smalley and was personally mentored by James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, King Kong, The Village, Maleficent).
Writing for picture gives him the freedom and the expressive domain to combine his love for music with movies.
